PUNDIT Mark Wilson has praised Celtic duo John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan after the Hoops completed back-to-back league titles on Sunday.

The coaching duo were wanted out of the club by most fans, and when Ange Postecoglou came in and chose to stick with them, there was a lot of disagreement.
Fans were extremely unhappy that season and were looking for a full clear-out, which was completely understandable given what was playing out in front of them.
However, the improvement in the two has been clear to see. Along with the boss, they’ve helped guide Celtic to success. Postecoglou has been very vocal about the valuable contribution of his coaching staff, and has credited Reo Hatate’s improvement to Gavin Strachan, who’s been working closely with the midfielder.
The Clyde 1 SSB pundit was keen to praise the pair, who are commonly forgotten about when the team enjoy success.
He said: [Football Scotland]
“I think there are some other unsung heroes that are never mentioned, are his backroom team, who by all accounts, take a lot of the training day in, day out.
“John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan, two that came in for huge criticism. They must take huge credit, Harry Kewell has added to that too.
“So they take huge credit because they will be the sounding board for the manager, it isn’t all just Ange Postecoglou.
“They take a great deal of training and tactical work that maybe fans don’t often appreciate, they just see the manager out front. So congratulations to those three or four as well.”
It’s good to see the backroom team get some recognition; it’s something that will please the manager.
