Pundit Predicts Bumper Celtic Pay Day

Celtic could be in for a bumper pay day if Barry Ferguson’s prediction comes true this summer.

The Kelty Hearts boss was gushing over the former Celtic star on the radio Monday evening.

Tierney is starting for his country as well as his club and the debate about who is better; Andy Robertson it Kieran Tierney seems like more of a forgone conclusion.

Since moving to the Premier League, Kieran has taken to it like a duck to water. He has already won the FA Cup and he continues to be one of the best players in the Arsenal side.

The fans also love him. For years, I think Arsenal have been crying out for a player with the dig and passion Kieran shows on a regular basis.

Ferguson thinks Arsenal need to tie Kieran down to a new long term deal if they want to fend off interest from the very top clubs.

Arsenal see themselves as a top side but they’ve not come close to winning the league in a long time.

“If I’m Arsenal I’m getting him and tying him down.” Ferguson told Go Radio.

“Because if I’m a Manchester City or something, I’m looking at a player like Kieran Tierney – that’s how good I think he is.

“I’ll be honest with you, I just love everything about Kieran Tierney.

“I think he’s gone up a couple of levels since he’s made the move.

“I always thought he was a very good player at Celtic, there was no doubt that he was going to move to the Premier League, but he’s gone down to Arsenal and gone up a couple of levels.

“As I mentioned before, Arsenal will need to think about getting him tied down on a new contract or the top clubs in England – now, Arsenal are a top club there’s no doubt about it but I’m talking Man City, Man United, or even the top clubs in Europe – if he continues to play like that they’ll be looking at him, believe me when I say that.”

Celtic would be due a sell-on fee should Kieran ever move club. The club usually insert a 10-25% sell on clause into their outgoing players deals.

If Kieran did go to a richer side, Celtic would be quid in.
