Pundit Fears Matt O’Riley Could Leave Celtic Next Summer

Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley’s standout form this season has been quite something. The Denmark internationalist has taken his game to a new level under the stewardship of Brendan Rodgers.

He recently made his Denmark debut and this, combined with his stunning displays, has led former Celt Mark Wilson to think he may not be in Glasgow for much longer. He said (Clyde 1 via Glasgow Times): “I think there is a good chance that he will go. I say that as Celtic knocked back a substantial bid this summer – £10m.

“Now he’s a full international and on the back of the six months he’s had from summer to now, you see him getting better.

“I just think someone will recognise that, I think people will already have recognised that. It will take a big bid and I think it will be a lot of money.”

It is inevitable that Celtic’s standout players eventually move on. Jota did so in the summer just past, and the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Kieran Tierney, and Moussa Dembele have also made notable switches in recent years.
