CELTIC take on Raith Rovers tonight with some key players still missing from the squad.
Callum McGregor is the big one – the captain was expected back for this game but Ange Postecoglou has not rushed the midfielder back with so many games coming up. Kyogo was training yesterday at Lennoxtown but as you will see below, the Japanese star has not made the provisional squad for the game this evening.
We have long term injuries such as James Forrest and Christopher Jullien who will likely be back in training mid-October.
The squad has been down to the bare minimum for a while now and results are reflecting our inability to change things up.
One positive for Thursday’s League Cup game is Giakoumakis being in the provisional squad for the game. It gives Celtic an attacking option from the bench. The prior two games Celtic have played, we’ve had very little to call on in the way of attacking players.
The provisional squad is submitted by the club 48 hours before the game but there is scope to change things. Not everyone on the list below will make the squad. Four goalkeepers are on the list, expect two of them to drop out.
