Postecoglou’s Surprising Biggest Critic

CELTIC manager Ange Postecoglou has disclosed that his most stringent critic is none other than his wife, Georgia.

She meticulously scrutinises all the matches and often provides constructive feedback on how he could enhance the team’s performance.

Postecoglou, who hails from Australia but was born in Greece, confessed that he has been facing some tough criticism at home recently following a slight dip in Celtic’s form.

After securing the Scottish Premiership title, the team suffered disappointing losses to Hibernian and Rangers and drew with St Mirren.

Interestingly, Postecoglou also revealed that Georgia is more rigorous than he is when it comes to their sons Max and Alexi’s football training.

The boys have joined a local club in Glasgow, but the Celtic manager prefers not to attend matches or training sessions, as his presence tends to draw considerable attention.

During his appearance on the Open Goal podcast with Si Ferry and Paul Slane, Postecoglou said:

“I feel sorry for them at the moment because I have hardly been to any of their games and training. I just tend to drop them off.

“I just want them to love the game like I did. They don’t need me by the side because invariably people want to talk to me and say ‘Which one’s your boy?’.

“I don’t need them to feel that way, I just want them to play their football.

“To be fair their mum is harder on them than I am. She gives them pelters when they get home about their running and their effort.

“She tells me as well. I have copped it the last couple of weeks with our performances.

“In no uncertain terms she tells me that it’s not up to scratch.

“To be fair she is the only one that can so she gets away with it.”
