ANGE POSTECOGLOU was asked during Friday’s press conference if he’s learned from The Rangers’ European run. However, he quickly pointed out that Celtic have had their memorable moments.
The Parkhead club’s manager quickly pointed out that a European Cup was resting in the trophy room. Jock Stien’s Celtic was the first British club to win the European Cup in 1967. No one will ever disregard the historical moment that fans still celebrate.
In response to the question based on The Rangers’ Europa League run, Ange Postecoglou said;
“I Think Scottish clubs, including this one, have made their mark in Europe before, I don’t think we have learned anything new this year.
“Rangers have done very well and Giovanni has done a great job in getting them to the semi-finals. I guess from their perspective they are still in the tie and have an opportunity to get to a final, which is great.
“But if you want evidence of how well Scottish clubs can do in Europe, there’s a trophy I can show you just down the road here, mate.”

Celtic recent European form isn’t good viewing, failing to progress past a knock-out round since 2004. However, there have still been brilliant European moments at Parkhead.
In recent years, Celtic have beaten Lazio home and away, last season’s French League champions fell to defeat at Celtic Park, and one of the greatest Barcelona sides was beaten 2-1 by Neil Lennon’s Celtic, and the Hoops overcame a good Manchester United squad. Draws home and away to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City stand out too.
Next season, Postecoglou will look to take Celtic deep into European competition. The manager believes in his style of football; it won’t change no matter the opposition in front of his team.
Starting in the Champions League, Ange will look to provide Celtic fans with more unforgettable experiences.
