Postecoglou’s Hits Nail on Head with Aaron Ramsey Question

On Transfer Deadline Day the Govan side announced the arrival of Aaron Ramsey on loan from Juventus.  The £400,000 a week player has swapped Turin for Glasgow, not the most common move.

Celtic had their business wrapped up before the final day of the window and did not have to rely on panic signings as they attempt to win the league.

Speaking on Ramsey’s arrival, Postecoglou remained calm and disagreed that the welsh international was good for Scottish football;

He is a quality player and he is still a very good player when you look at the level he has played at for the last couple of years.

Obviously, club wise he hasn’t played a lot, but when he last played for the national team in the summer he still looked like a very good player.

Yeah, good for the league but ultimately with all these signings, whether they are high profile or not, it comes down to performances.

The midfielder has already been ruled out for Wednesday’s Glasgow Derby, surprisingly not through injury. Due to his lack of game time, Ramsey will take a couple of weeks to get up to scratch.

Just because a player has experience at what is perceived to be at a higher level than the Scottish game doesn’t mean they will set the league alight. Celtic fans only have to cast their minds back to last season to remember what they expected from Shane Duffy and compare it to how he actually performed.

The media can rant and rave about how good the 31-year-old is, but ultimately, until he proves it on the Park he is just another player.

Personally, I am not worried about the signing of the player. I trust Ange’s recruitment strategy. It has already worked in finding hidden gems, like Kyogo who Ange mentioned as well as Hatate, who has the qualities of a great midfielder.
