Postecoglou’s Encouraging Transfer Update

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has delivered a major transfer update by confirming he expects to have more new signings within the next week as he gears up for the start of the SPFL season.

Celtic are in dire need of reinforcements and will go into their second qualifying round against Midtjylland vastly underprepared.

A defence that will likely see Anthony Ralston in it is hardly ideal when you’re chasing the Champions League group stages.

If Celtic get through this round, it will go down as a top achievement under the circumstances.

It speaks to how badly the club have gone about things since Neil Lennon’s departure. We’ve been playing dead rubbers for most of the 2021 calendar so far. In the time Lennon has left, we should have had a lot of things in place for the start of the season but we’re still playing catch up and are hoping for a result rather than perhaps expecting one.

When it comes to new players coming in, the manager did give CelticTV this positive update:

“We’re working hard on others. The idea is to get them in as soon as we can, but the world is a complicated place at the moment.

“It’s not as easy as putting people on planes and they are here in a day.

“We’re working through it. I’m confident we will have more in the building in the next week or so.

Time is really of the essence at this point. Celtic can’t afford to start slow but the manager is working with one hand tied behind his back at the moment.
