MONDAY NIGHT witnessed the return of football fans into stadiums, supporters were welcomed back to Paradise with a terrific viewing of Celtic’s win over Hibs.
Fans were capped at 500 as the government attempted to tackle the spread of the then-new Omincron variant of COVID-19. The frustrating news led to the winder break being brought forward, however, the Boxing Day fixtures still had to suffer an effective empty stadium.
Postecoglou said on Friday that he had never seen supporters that excited to watch a game of football and even compared it to his children on Christmas day. In full he said;
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen supporters that excited as Monday night, mate. It was a Monday night but you just felt that everyone was buzzing because there was a football match on.
“Obviously, they’re our supporters and they are always passionate, it was like my kids on Christmas morning, mate. I just felt the vibe in the whole place, everyone was excited.”

Celtic fans are the best in the world, the passion our fans have for the game is unmatched. Having Celtic back and being able to go to Celtic park most weeks to watch our team is something we will never take for granted again.
