Postecoglou’s Brilliant Champions League Comments

ANGE POSTECOGLOU is not setting any targets as he prepares to lead Celtic into the Champions League group stages next season.

Winning the league in his debut season ensured that Celtic would be competing in Europe’s elite competition until at least Christmas.

The Celtic boss revealed to Football Scotland that he’s not setting any targets ahead of the competition.

“I have never laid down a goal in my life because, if I did, I probably would have surpassed it 20-odd years ago.

“Every next step gives you an opportunity to be part of something special, so who knows what the next 12 months have in store for us.

“But like always, I’ll have a decent crack at it and see what comes out.”

This style will undoubtedly split opinions throughout the support, but Postecoglou’s attitude is correct here.

Celtic aren’t at the required level for Champions League, yet.

The boss’ attitude to go out, give it their best shot and take it from there is the best way to handle the Champions League at the moment.

Postecoglou aims to win every match and believes playing attacking football leads to results. He knows that if they stick to their guts, the team will end up where they want to be.

It will certainly be a roller coaster of an experience next season, but it’s one that every Celtic fan is looking forward to.
