ANGE POSTECOGLOU has warned that the next few weeks could be hectic as the summer transfer window draws to a close.
The boss has stated there could be incomings, with the club discussing a few names internally. After revealing the club wasn’t in talks with any players a few days ago, their position seems to have changed.
On the outgoings, it’s expected that a few players will depart Celtic, which could open up space in the squad and allow the club to welcome new signings.
Mikey Johnston, Albian Ajeti, Liam Shaw, Chris Jullien, and James McCarthy could still make a Celtic exit, with the lot not included in Postecoglou’s plans.
Looking ahead to the next few weeks, the Celtic boss previewed the end of the transfer window, hinting there is activity yet to be completed. [The Herald]
“In terms of incomings we are still active.
“There’s one or two areas that I would like to bring in but it has to be the right sort of players. We are definitely still active and looking at what options may be available. In general, I think this transfer window is going to be pretty hectic in the last couple of weeks. I suggest there could be some opportunities there for us and in terms of outgoings there are players who aren’t getting a lot of opportunities.”
Celtic’s Rebuild
It feels we are now in the closing stages of Celtic’s rebuild, a few windows sooner than expected.
There is a new-look squad with some backroom changes; Postecoglou can be delighted with the club’s work over the past four windows.
