Postecoglou Wanted More from his Team on Wednesday

ANGE POSTECOGLOU is a demanding manager, he does not hide this. The boss wants his teams to attack relentlessly no matter the score or time in the game.

On Wednesday, Celtic were three to the good at the break but captain, Callum McGregor, has hinted the manager was unhappy that the team did not score more in the second half. Speaking to Celtic TV, Mcgregor said;

“In the second half, we were a little more solid, kind of consolidated the game and we were happy with our lead. So even this morning, he’s touching on it. He wants us to keep going and try to be even more ruthless if we can.”

In the second half, Celtic tend to take their foot off the gas and are not as high-pressing and attacking as they were in the previous forty-five minutes. This could be because the time grows tired and Postecoglou can not rotate the squad as he would like.

With players coming back from international duty and injury, it gives Postecoglou more options from the bench. With many star players still out, the manager may struggle to rotate fully.

The new rule change that allows five substitutes will also benefit Postecoglou when he gets all his players back.
