BRENDAN RODGERS has contacted Ange Postecoglou, the Celtic manager has revealed.
The Foxes boss was successful at Celtic, going 69 games unbeaten and winning the treble treble, one of which he won without losing. Over his time at Celtic, his side competed in both European competitions and all three domestic fronts. His advice would be helpful to the incoming Ange.
The Celtic boss also said that Neil Lennon had contacted him, but let’s hope Postecoglou didn’t take any of the Northern Irishman’s advice on board.
As quoted by Keep Up, Postecoglou revealed the contact, saying;
“It is (another level). It’s truly unique and it’s the one thing that people talk to you about before you take the role”
“When I got the job I had quite a few messages from people like Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon, and guys who’ve been in my position.
“The one thing they said is you’ll never forget the atmosphere created at Celtic Park, it’ll stay with you forever, doesn’t matter what you do before or after and they weren’t wrong.
“From the moment you enter the arena, and for the next 95 minutes it’s just electric. They get right behind the team, they never stop singing and 60,000 every game, up for it. It’s truly fantastic.”
Brendan Rodgers left Celtic, with fans frustrated with how he had done so. However, he still associates with Celtic. Still making trips to Parkhead and attended the funerals of Billy McNeill and Bertie Auld.
He will go down in the history books for his achievements. Hopefully, Ange will follow suit, guiding many successful Celtic teams as long as he doesn’t leave in the same fashion.
