ANGE POSTECOGLOU has updated the squad that’ll face St Johnstone as the team looks to stretch their advantage at the top to nine points before The Rangers play on Sunday.
Confirming Kyogo will have a part to play on Saturday, the Celtic manager confirmed James Forrest is still a week away from returning to action. Before the international break, the winger picked up a knock against Dundee United in the Scottish Cup and is still recovering. [Celtic TV]
“James is probably another week, we’re hoping. He’s gotten closer but he’s really the only one not available for tomorrow.”
However, the squad is in a good place, and Forrest’s absence won’t come as a big blow. Postecoglou will pick between Abada and Jota to occupy the right-wing position.
Forrest has played a big part for Celtic this season when he’s not been injured.
His goal ensured Celtic would progress to the League Cup final against Saturday’s opponents St Johnstone.
Just as he was looking to regain his form, he’s been served with another period on the sidelines. If injury continues to hamper the striker, it’s hard to envisage a future at the club in a playing role.
