ANGE POSTECOGLOU was forced to take Liel Abada off the pitch after he pulled up with an injury during the second half. Then, during the break at extra time, he took Maeda off, replacing him with James Forrest.
It’s good news for Celtic fans. There are no further players to add to the injury list with the manager unconcerned over his duo.
Speaking live on Premier Sports, Postecoglou provided an update on the pair, saying;
“Liel just cramped up, he hasn’t played for a while. Maeda just ran his heart into the ground. ”
Celtic missed Giakoumakis’ physical presence up top at Hampden. His injury isn’t too severe, and he should be back for next weekend’s encounter against Ross County.
There are not many injuries in the Celtic squad at the moment. David Turnbull and Kyogo Furuhashi took to the field today as they look to regain their match sharpness, both spending a few months on the sidelines.
Postecoglou won’t allow this result to distract his team as he looks to secure the league title in the coming matches.
