Celtic fans have been loving Ange Postecoglou’s style of play since joining the club in the summer.

The former Socceroos boss has got his squad playing some fantastic stuff at such an early stage in his managerial career at Parkhead.

The season may have got off to a bit of a slow start, in terms of results being up and down, given the amount of work Ange had to do with the playing squad.

But now, we are starting to see this group of players building real momentum and picking up consistent results, securing their place in the Premier Sports cup final last Saturday.

Speaking in an interview with popular Scottish Football show Open Goal, Postecoglou opened up on the moment he believed his style of play started to really sink into this group of players in the away fixture against Real Betis.

The Hoops boss stated that he believes being competitive in that game, away from home against a good European side, gave his squad the belief to continue playing his style of football.

“I look back on that game. We obviously got thumped by Leverkusen 4-0 at home. But even that game, we played some decent stuff – they were just too good for us in the big moments.

“But that first game against Betis, I thought, and I think the players got a real belief, that you know what we’re playing a good side here and we are taking it to them in their own back yard.

“That was kinda when it started sinking into the boys that if we stick to playing this football, even against quality, we’ll crack it at some point.”

The Betis game might have been the kick-starter, given the performance on the night in Spain.

However, arguably ever since the loss to Leverkusen, Ange and the squad look to have turned a corner putting together a really good run of form.

What is exciting to hear is that Ange believes there is even more to come. So hopefully, we can continue to see signs of that ahead of a busy month of fixtures.
