Ange Postecoglou appears to have opened the door to Boli Bolingoli for a possible return to the side.
As quoted by the Daily Record, the 55-year old Hoops boss cleared up why the Belgian hasn’t been involved in any of the pre-season friendlies as of yet, with the left suffering from a slight knock, and also left the door open for him to rejuvenate his Celtic career.
“We are hoping it won’t keep him out for too long, maybe two or three days.
“While they are here they have all got a future. I can’t control who wants to stay and who wants to leave. If people don’t want to stay, that’s fine.
“But anyone who is here at the moment, I will treat them as part of the group and give everyone an opportunity to be part of where we are heading.”
Last summer, the 26-year old’s Celtic career was derailed by the incident which saw him fly to Spain and fail to quarantine on his return, at the height of the Covid pandemic.
This left Hoops bosses livid with the left-back and his career in Glasgow looked all but over, being sent out on loan to Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir.
Bolingoli got off to a decent enough start for the former Turkish champions, featuring on several occasions in the Champions League but he suffered from a bad knee injury which kept him out for the majority of the season.
He returned towards the back-end of the campaign to play his part in saving Basaksehir from a surprise relegation.
With a new manager coming in place, many were not sure what the future was going to hold for Bolingoli in Glasgow.
It appears that Postecoglou is willing to give him the chance to kickstart his career at Parkhead once again and he will likely be keeping a close eye on his progress over pre-season.
