Former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been making waves South of the border since a move to Tottenham Hotspur. His side currently sits fifth in the table, but only seven points behind the league leaders Liverpool.
Recently, the Aussie has been previewing his team’s trip to face Nottingham Forest on Friday night. In his pre-match press conference for it, Postecoglou namechecked three players whom he managed at Celtic.
The trio still ply their trade for the Hoops. He said (Spurs YouTube): “Yeah, yeah, most of the guys, most of the teams I’ve had, whether it was at Celtic where Greg Taylor was very influential, Anthony Ralston, Alistair Johnston and when I was at Yokohama, Ken Matsubara. I could go on.”

In Glasgow, Postecoglou looked to utilise these players in an inverted role. Each one of them hugely succeded when played there.
Taylor came on leaps and bounds under the now Spurs boss, and Ralston’s career was completely revived by Postecoglou. Johnston joined later on in the manager’s two-year tenure, but he still made a notable impact.
These players are outstanding in the mind of Postecoglou, and the positive impact he had on their careers has most certainly helped Celtic in where they are now.
