Postecoglou Lining up Celtic Christmas Signing

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has responded cryptically when asked about Yokohama F. Marinos midfielder Tomoki Iwata.

He’s said to be on Celtic’s transfer shortlist, with reports on Saturday morning suggesting the Hoops are plotting a move for the 25-year-old.

When asked about the possibility of the player’s January arrival, Postecoglou didn’t give too much away but did hint his arrival was on the cards.

Ange Postecoglou said: [Daily Mail]

‘We’ll see what Santa brings.’

The manager has already signed the defensive midfielder before, signing him in January 2021, only a couple of months before he left for Celtic. Iwata was part of Kevin Muscat’s title-winning side and has received some great reviews from those who watch the J-League, his possible signing is certainly exciting.

The news emerged a few days after reports suggesting that Ideguchi could return to his homeland. He’s been unlucky at Celtic, with injuries getting in the way of game time. Iwata is seen as a replacement for the former Leeds midfielder.
