ANGE POSTECOGLOU disagrees that The Rangers dominated the game, saying both sides had their moments in the close encounter.

The match’s outcome couldn’t be decided in ninety minutes, so an extra thirty were required.

Postecoglou told Premier Sports after the game that he thought it was a ‘typical semi-final’ with the players too scared to put a foot wrong because they knew the potential consequences.

“It was a tight game. I don’t think either side really dominated for a great period.

“It’s the nature of a semi-final, there’s a lot at stake and they tend to be games where people are afraid to make mistakes.

“It ends up being a bit of an arm wrestle and we didn’t have enough to get it over the line.

“You can be disappointed without being critical, it’s a disappointing day for us because it was an opportunity for us to get to a final.

“But I can’t fault the effort of the players, it was a really tight game. (Rangers) took advantage of their moments, we didn’t.

The Rangers weren’t overly dominant, as some would suggest. Unlike Celtic, they took their chances and progressed to the next round of the competition.

It was end to end at the national stadium, with tackles flying in left, right and centre. The fans were in full voice for the entertaining game.

Frustratingly, Celtic failed to match the level of performance fans have become accustomed to. After such a dominant display against St Johnstone, the team could not match fans’ expectations and was relatively poor.

Postecoglou doesn’t feel his team lacked the intensity, but many fans did. It was a bad day at the office for Celtic, but the season is not over yet, with a league title still to be won.
