Postecoglou Confirms Talks With Out Of Contract Celt

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed he held talks with out of contract striker Leigh Griffiths surrounding his possible future at the club.

When asked in his press conference this afternoon, the 55-year old stated he had a ‘good chat’ with the Hoops frontman, who is currently out of contract but also stated it is dependant on himself about if he can get on board with what Ange wants to do.

“I’ve had a good chat with Leigh. He is a player who has done fantastically well for the football club over a number of years, and I had a great discussion with him.

“He is in the same place as everyone else. A lot of it will be dependent on them and everyone seeing what I am trying to do.

“I’ve made it clear the kind of football club we are going to be, the kind of football we are going to play, the expectations around that in terms of everything that’s involved in being a professional footballer.

“We’ll continue those discussions, and if Leigh fits in the picture, I’m happy to bring him back.”

Based on Ange’s comments, this seems like a very fair assessment of what Griffiths future will hold.

Whilst fans have differing opinions over whether he should be at the club in the future, the former Australian National team coach has made things clear today that he will do things his way.

So, if players can get on board with that, they will have a future here at Parkhead.

Hopefully, we should have some clarification around Leigh’s future at the club in the coming days.
