Postecoglou Aiming for an Emphatic Finish

ANGE POSTECOGLOU sat down with Celtic TV ahead of the weekend’s encounter against Hearts.

Celtic is just three points away from winning the league title, which is a great achievement given the club’s mess last summer.

Ange and his players stayed humble, kept their heads down and got on with their football. Since September, the team has had a near-perfect run, not falling to defeat since September’s away game at Livingston.

After some great results against our rivals, Postecoglou has guided the team to the league’s top and sit with a comfortable six-point lead.

Speaking to Celtic TV on Friday night, the Celtic manager stated he wanted to finish on a high, saying;

“It’s a tricky one. You don’t want to fall over the line and just get it over and done with. I think it’s important that you actually enjoy this bit. The challenge is still before us; we haven’t accomplished what we wanted. Enjoy this bit, be up for it. Don’t want it to come to you.

“I’m being pretty strong, and so are the players, and everyone with just embracing the challenge and wanting to win it. Win it our way, play our football and finish it strong rather than hoping it all finishes so we can get it over and done with.”

This also indicates that Postecoglou won’t be fielding any weaker sides as the season runs to an end. Some fans were hoping that they would get to see some of the B team’s biggest prospects get a shot on the team, but the manager doesn’t seem like he’ll be doing this.
