KIERAN TIERNEY has posted an image of his mate by his hospital bedside after the defender successfully went under the knife.

The Celtic star missed a lot of the season with injury and it came to the point the defender was scheduled in for a post season double hernia operation to finally fix the problem.

Kieran was holding off on the surgery in the hope of being fit enough for the Scottish Cup final but it wasn’t to be. The left back has been in constant pain for a while now and has played through the pain on more than one occasion. His last action of the season was to help Celtic to a 3-0 win against Aberdeen which sealed the league title at Pittodrie.

Tonight the youngster is recovering and will begin the rehab process. The great news is the recovery time for this operation will see KT back in plenty of time for the new season.
