Both Giakoumakis and Tierney started the match on the bench but were given some minutes on the pitch, much to the delight of Celtic fans watching the game.
Tierney, who became a key player for Arsenal since his move from Celtic, and was even in the talk for the captaincy, struggled for game time last season.
The Scottish internationalist has been linked with a sensational loan return to the Hoops. While the rumours may seem far-fetched given Tierney’s wage packet, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has refused to rule out the possibility, stating “never say never.” [SunSport]
Giakoumakis, on the other hand, left Celtic in January after an 18-month stint with the club. The Greek striker signed on deadline day in Ange Postecoglou’s first transfer window and had a mixed spell at Celtic.
