DAIZEN MAEDA is on his way to reunite with his Celtic teammates after signing a new four-year deal with the club last week.
The Japanese star has committed his long-term future to the club alongside countryman Kyogo, who also penned a new four-year deal.
Maeda has been back in Japan enjoying some downtime after a hectic season where he played a big part in Celtic’s treble success.
Daizen, like all the other Celts who played international football over the summer, was given an extra week off to enjoy family time and unwind.
On Saturday, he was pictured at the airport with Japan and Portugal flag emojis attached. Signifying he was on his way to Celtic’s warm weather training camp to not just meet up with his Celtic teammates but to meet Brendan Rodgers for the first time.

Celtic will spend almost two weeks in Portugal before the bhoys head back to Japan to play in two friendlies – one of them against Daizen’s former team Yokohama Marinos.
Those will be the first games Celtic fans will likely see the team play under Rodgers for the first time. We believe the bounce games they have lined up in Portugal will be behind closed doors.
