Philippe Clement took the bait from Brendan Rodgers on Saturday evening, hook, line and sinker! The Belgian waffler watched his team effectively play out a training exercise at Ibrox on Sunday after Kilmarnock were reduced to ten men early in the first half.
After the game, unprompted he brought up Brendan Rodgers saying in his press conference that Celtic will work hard and have fun next week in the Glasgow derby. Philippe’s demeanour while saying this changed to one of a rattled man who should have known better than to show Brendan had gotten to him and his Ibrox staff.
Poor Philippe is taking his advice from Alex Rae, because we refuse to believe he’d mention it without Alex whipping up a storm before hand.
Philippe said they’re going to have a lot of fun at Celtic Park too. It was a very grown up moment from the Ibrox boss and what was a passing comment by Brendan has absolutely rattled the Belgian.
It speaks to what goes on at Ibrox regularly. They can’t help themselves, the fella has had two attempts to beat Celtic and hasn’t managed it. He also oversaw Rangers dropping five points out of six against Dundee and Ross County two weeks ago to watch Celtic once again take the lead in the title race.
Whatever happens next week, this fella needs to toughen up.
