Peter Lawwell Set to Face the Music

PETER LAWWELL will be heading up Celtic’s AGM on Monday as the board get set to face questions from shareholders as well as discuss any resolutions.

This would usually take place inside Celtic Park in front of shareholders with the chief exec being flanked by the chairman and Celtic manager.

It takes on a completely different complexion this time around with the conference happening online due to social distancing rules. Given our start to the season and the protests which have called for the board to leave, it could have been an explosive AFM and while hard questions might be asked tomorrow, it’s nothing like what the board would’ve faced in normal circumstances.

There’s many in the support who believe the board have been asleep at the wheel, the managed decline of the team over the past 18 months has been there for all to see.

Four Champions League appearances out of the last twelve haven’t been good enough and speak to a bigger issue at the club.

There has been rumours abound Peter Lawwell could use the AGM to reveal he’s stepping down at the end of the season but we’ve heard nothing concrete on that.
