Paul Slane Calls Out Charlie Nicholas

Former Celtic youth player turned podcast personality Paul Slane has had a go at another ex-Celt Charlie Nicholas for taking issue the way Odsonne Edouard celebrated his goals.

Never far away from a negative Celtic comment, Nicholas chose to blast the Celtic striker for scoring goals instead of giving him credit because the way he celebrates is irritating the Sky Sports man.

Edouard hit back on social media saying he can celebrate how he likes and it wasn’t his problem.

Slane has hit out at the ludicrous statement by Nicholas and quipped Charlie has his own irritating stuff to deal wit.

Speaking on the OpenGoal podcast, Slane said:

“Charlie Ridiculous – I’m sick of this man. A man who’s dressed up and wanted to be Bono his whole life.

“And we’re listening to him? Not for me Charlie. Edouard can celebrate the way he wants.

“I remember I was 16 and I did the Robbie Keane celebration.

“It was the biggest mistake I ever made

“When I went to do a cartwheel, my left arm collapsed on the ground.

“I made a fool of myself because I was too excited.

“Be relaxed when you score – if you want to celebrate, celebrate.”

Eddy has been on a great run of form and he continues to score goals for Celtic at important times. The outside noise from people like Nicholas only serves to inspire our players. The nonsense in the media before the Glasgow Derby game at the start of September added fuel to the Celtic players on the day.

Eddy is a cool customer and is very measured in his approach to the game. It’s what makes him a great player. Scoring the goal at Ibrox took calmness, skill and technique.
