CELTIC are set to bring the biggest transfer saga of the summer to a happy conclusion by signing Patrick Roberts on a reported one-year loan.
The Man City midfielder has been desperate to rejoin the hoops since leaving after the Scottish Cup final last season. After getting limited game time during Man City’s preseason he made it clear to the club that Celtic is his preferred destination.
The deal has gone on for so long because of City’s reluctance to send the player back to a club where he’s already spent 18 months. Also, Celtic had tried their hardest to convince City to sell Patrick on a permanent deal with a buy back clause but it doesn’t seem to have gone anywhere.
Patrick will have a routine medical today according to the BBC and should be announced through Celtic’s official channels shortly.
