PATRICK ROBERTS is a long time removed from his Celtic spell now but he’s still not found a proper home.
The Englishman signed a new deal with City a couple of seasons back when he had not been given any inclination there was a first team chance coming. The wee man hasn’t gambled on himself and has been happy to be loaned out here and there by City.
The winger started the season at Middlesbrough but ended it at Derby, helping them just escape relegation.
It was Paddy who got on the score sheet alongside former Ibrox striker Martyn Waghorn to confirm their Championship status for next season in a thrilling 3-3 draw which seen Sheffield Wednesday go down.
While it will have been good for Patrick to be part of a side who staved off relegation – his career is now at a crossroads. The 24-year-old has one more year left on his current City deal and it’s time to move on from the Etihad club and find a permanent base.
I doubt that will be Celtic but it would be great to see Roberts settle down and show what he can do.
