Celtic were deservedly beaten in Sunday’s Scottish Premiership match with Kilmarnock. The Rugby Park side ran out 201 victors as the bhoys trembled once more.
In the first half, the Celts dominated although they didn’t take their chances. Indeed one of their former players, Pat Bonner, thinks the front three could have done better. He said (BBC Sportsound via Glasgow Times): “Young Mikey Johnston kept running towards the ball. He was outmuscled and that then stopped Celtic from from getting a hold of the ball.
“Palma didn’t really contribute in the second half. Oh was always on the halfway line and he had a couple of good moments where he held the ball up and he turned and he played in Matt O’Riley but it was all too few from that perspective.”

Although the attackers were poor, most of them are in no way first-choice assets for Brendan Rodgers. Despite this, they should be capable of contributing to a result.
Along with the defence, the Hoops frontline was stagnant in the second half. The loss was a stark reminder that success does not come easily and that the champions have to work throughout these types of games, something they failed to do yesterday.
