Former Celtic goalkeeper and BBC pundit Pat Bonner was full of praise for Celtic’s 2-2 draw against Aberdeen at Celtic Park this afternoon.
Celtic let a 2-0 lead slip at half-time, with the Dons even having a third goal ruled out for handball in the second half.
Bonner said: (BBC Sportsound), “I’ve witnessed brilliant games at Celtic Park but that was right up there. It had everything.
“Brilliant counter attacks from both sides. There was mistakes, but there was so much passion and energy from the players.
“The impact (Duk and Ester Sokler) had was quite incredible. I have to got to hand it the Aberdeen manager for making those changes.
“It was an incredible game.”
Brendan Rodgers will certainly be frustrated by letting the lead slip; however, Celtic gave it everything in the last 15 minutes of the game and were unfortunate not to win.
Lessons were certainly learned from the draw, as defensive errors led to a Dons fightback.
Celtic will need to raise their game against Atalanta midweek, as Aberdeen showed that the Hoops can be vulnerable defensively.
Given the seven goals conceded against Borussia Dortmund last time out in the Champions League, allowing so many goals is often concerning at this stage of the season.
Aberdeen themselves deserve a lot of credit for an incredible fightback, and Jimmy Thelin certainly has the Dons playing some great football.
