Parkhead Exit: Five Players Who Should Leave Club in January

There are five Celtic players who are firmly in line to leave the club this January if the right move crops up for any of them.

Surplus to requirements or just wanting to play first team football – here are five Celtic players who could benefit from moving on from the club before the end of the month.

Craig Gordon

In the last six months of his deal, the player has already spoken about potentially leaving the club if he can’t make the breakthrough. There are no signs of Craig signing a new deal and at 37, the goalkeeper just wants to play football before he hangs up his gloves.

Eboue Kouassi

Injured for a long time, not used much by Brendan Rodgers and even though he’s fit now doesn’t look like he’s being considered for a run in the team under Neil Lennon. File under a poor piece of transfer business.

Kundai Benyu

A low cost, low-risk signing by Brendan Rodgers – Kundai came in and looked energetic but quickly fell out of favour. Loaned out several times and is back after a disappointing spell in Sweden. Needs to be moved on.

Scott Sinclair

Well, what can we say about this man? What a Celtic career he’s had to date but the way his current status seems to be fizzling out isn’t great. Once a pivotal part of the starting XI and a catalyst for the treble treble, the Englishman can rarely make the matchday squad with guys like Lewis Morgan put in front of him. Given the size of contact he’s on, it would be good for both the club and the player to move on this January.

Jack Hendry

Another Rodgers signing who hasn’t cut the mustard. Your chance to make the breakthrough at Celtic can be relatively short and when you do get onto the field you have to impress – something Jack hasn’t done. Nir Bitton is preferred to the defender as a back-up. A loan move with a view to a permanent deal would suit everyone.
