Sky Sports journalist and Celtic supporter Anthony Joseph has delivered his Celtic Champions League verdict after the Parkhead club played out a 1-1 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk.

The bhoys took the lead against the Ukrainian club for the second time this season, but like the first game, the magic of Mudryk was our undoing.

It was another game where we failed to take our chances and paid the price for not converting.

Ange Postecoglou went out with a mission to play our football, for the most part, we did. This group of players has managed to go toe to toe with every team in their group, making multiple chances to win games. We’ve not been ruthless enough in front of goal and it’s cost us dearly.

Anthony Joseph echoes that sentiment, but also praised one Celtic man for his efforts on the night.

Yet another frustrating night in the #UCL for Celtic. Overall performance was good, but lessons need to be learned from this campaign. O’Riley & Hatate were below par tonight – neither seemed to have the same drive about them. Greg Taylor was outstanding yet again, though.

Greg has been brilliant all season and has really come into his own under Ange.

It’s back to domestic duty for Celtic now. While they have a trip to the Bernabeu still to come next week, the game is a dead rubber.
