Opinion: Two Nightmare Celtic Scenarios

NEIL LENNON believes the team has it in them to finish the season strong. After a mostly indifferent and frustrating campaign, the bhoys area putting a winning run together.

However, Celtic fans are in a lose-lose situation as we go into the final nine league games of the season.

If Celtic were to win every game for the rest of the season; including the two Glasgow Derbies it would cut the gap to nine points, assuming the league leaders win the rest of their games.

In that scenario, we win two derbies and have some momentum for next season. BUT, the January debacle and Dubai trip would take on massive significance. If Celtic only lose the league by nine points, the dropped points due to disarray and isolation in January would have cost us the chance to test our rivals title resolve. That is unforgivable and would be frustrating for every fan who watched all of this unfold.

The other scenario; we have an indifferent end to this season and end up 15-20 points behind first place. This would be painful to watch and offer us very little hope going into next season.

There’s just no realistic scenario out there for the hoops as they get prepared to relinquish their title.

Bad decisions and self inflicted wounds in this season of all seasons will be a source of much debate in the months and years to come.

There has been difficult circumstances but the Celtic manager has made some very disappointing decisions which have seen our rivals win without being challenged. Again, unforgivable.
