Opinion: Three Guaranteed Parkhead Summer Exits

As we pull into the home straight with silverware in our minds, the players and coaches will focus on the task at hand.

However, at a club like Celtic, there will also be a lot going on behind the scenes as the bhoys prepare for the summer.

Nicky Hammond isn’t just a run of the mill head scout, he has been given a decent amount of autonomy to set up a new infrastructure and have more scope than Lee Congerton did in the end.

There will already have been chats about potential comings and goings and it can be a guessing game at times, but right now there are at least three guaranteed exits from Celtic this summer based on current situations.

Daniel Arzani will leave the club have played a grand total of seventeen minutes of football should be not get any game time between now and the end of the season. The injury on his debut which had him out for over a year has destroyed any chance of getting into the first team. Daniel will go to Manchester City where he’ll likely be sent out on loan again.

Marian Shved, what a mess this transfer has been. Signed by Celtic scouts with Lawwell okaying the deal. At the time, Brendan Rodgers even admitted to not knowing we were signing Shved. Neil Lennon has used the winger less than sparingly and we think he’ll move on this summer.

Craig Gordon is the no brainer, out of contract, right down the pecking order and desperate to play football before he hangs up his gloves. He’ll cease being a Celtic player on June 1st. What a career he’s had with us though!

There are other players futures still up in the air like Jonny Hayes and Jozo Simunovic who are out of contract but there might deals for both if Neil Lennon has anything to say about them.

Then there’s your Edouard’s and McGregor’s who Celtic must endeavour to keep beyond the summer. It’s going to be interesting in the close season.
