Opinion: Neil Lennon’s Playing a Blinder Before Cup Final

Neil Lennon is a fan of mind games when it comes to football matches.

When it comes to a Cup Final, he might even ramp it up that bit further and keep his opponents guessing.

The Celtic manager is being intentionally vague about the fitness of key members of his team ahead of Sunday’s League Cup Final and it’ll be for good reason.

Right now, nobody knows if Odsonne Edouard will make the team for this weekend, and Neil Lennon wants it that way. Whether the Frenchman is fit and raring to go or is nursing an injury, he’ll want to keep Steven Gerrard guessing until the team sheet comes out on Sunday afternoon.

There’s also question marks over who plays on the left-hand side with Boli, Hayes and Elyounoussi still fighting for fitness. Again, this is something the manager will need to address perhaps before and after the Hamilton game on Wednesday night – but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was again vague.
