After being the subject of a horrendous challenge from Motherwell centre-half Liam Gordon on Sunday, Celtic’s Adam Idah is now wearing a protective boot.
Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers last night updated fans on the condition of some of his crooked stars ahead of Wednesday night’s clash with Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.
Rodgers sounded optimistic about Callum McGregor’s recovery, although Idah clearly suffered from Gordon’s excessive tackle. It remains to be seen whether he will be good to go for tomorrow’s match.

The fact that the Irishman has had to sport a protective boot a few days after the game shows just how foolish Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell’s defence of Gordon’s challenge was.
Although Gordon’s sliding tackle met the necessary criteria for a red – excessive force and endangering the safety of an opponent – Kettlwell proceeded to defend the 28-year-old post-match, labelling his sending off as ‘really, really harsh’.
If one watches the tackle back just a few times, such an opinion is incredibly puzzling.
Gordon went in with an outstretched leg at great force, and the fact that Idah is now wearing a protective boot shows, number one, just how bad it was and, number two, how poorly Kettlewell assessed it.
The fact we have heard nothing of a Motherwell appeal for the sending off two days on from it tells its own story, too.
