Reports last week claimed a ‘Scottish Club’ was in talks to bring Patrick Berg to Scotland next season [Glasgow Live].
A lot of you will be wondering who this guy is and what he’s about.
The Cynic took a look at Patrick back in January as a potential Scott Brown replacement and this lad ticks all the boxes.
The 23-year-old is exactly what Celtic are looking for. A guy in the middle of the park who does the unglamorous side of the game so others can shine.
Have a listen below to the Cynic’s scouting report on the defensive midfielder.

Berg fits all the key Celtic transfer target attributes. Young but has a good amount of experience for FK Bodø/Glimt, he can be developed even more and sold down the line for a huge profit.
TransferMarkt has the Norwegian’s value at a little over £1m because he is entering the final year of his contract – an incredible price considering Berg’s potential.

The only big unknown is how Berg would travel and settle into a new country. He’s spent his whole career at FK Bodø/Glimt to date and it would be a much more pressured environment in Glasgow.
There’s a void left by Scott Brown that needs to be filled, some will point to Ismaila Soro but he needs competition and is still raw.
Simply put, I hope we are the Scottish club interested in bringing Berg to the club. If it’s the other side of Glasgow they would land a top player at a bargain price.
