Oostende Make Incredible Profit on Celtic Deal

There has been speculation all day and throughout the summer that Oostende’s decision to sign Jack Hendry was purely to flip him for a major profit.

That has come to fruition this evening as the former Celtic defender makes the move to Club Brugge in a deal worth up to £8.6m.

Celtic were happy enough last summer to allow Jack to go out to Belgium on loan and give Oostende an option to buy of around £1.5m.

Nobody seen what was coming next apart from maybe Jack Hendry. The Scottish international at the season of his life and was the Belgian League’s best defender.

Having such a low fee to pay for the defender, Oostende bought the player outright and started garnering interest in the centre back. They’re short term investment has paid off massively here.

Hendry was unlikely to make it at Celtic but the club might be kicking themselves for putting such a low first option on the defender.

It’s an incredible piece of business by Oostende and Jack will now be playing Champions League football this season. What a turn around.
