One Change – Celtic Starting XI vs Aberdeen

Celtic have confirmed their starting XI for today’s lunchtime showdown against Aberdeen at Pittodrie, with Brendan Rodgers naming a strong side as the champions look to maintain momentum. Kick-off is at 12:30pm in what promises to be a fiery Scottish Premiership contest.

Kasper Schmeichel keeps his place between the sticks, bringing his vast experience to a tricky away fixture. Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales, and Kieran Tierney form the defence.

Captain Callum McGregor anchors the midfield, flanked by Reo Hatate and summer signing Benji Nygren. James Forrest, fresh from an impressive cameo last time out, takes a wide role, with Adam Idah leading the line and Daizen Maeda bringing relentless pressing from the opposite flank.

Pittodrie has never been an easy hunting ground for Celtic, and Aberdeen will be desperate to make life uncomfortable for the champions. The Dons, backed by a vocal home crowd, have caused problems for Celtic in the past with their physical approach and set-piece threat. Rodgers will be fully aware of the need for intensity from the first whistle.

A win today would be another statement of intent from Celtic as they aim to keep a firm grip on top spot. With Rangers dropping points again there’s added incentive
