On-Loan Celt Wins Player of the Year

Celtic goalkeeper Conor Hazard has won Supporters Association Player of the Year for his loan club Helsinki after he helped the club to win another league title.

Hazard has been out on-loan since January and isn’t due back at Celtic until the end of this year. The goalkeeper made the headlines during the heights of pandemic football when he helped secure the quadruple treble for the club in a tense penalty shootout inside an empty Hampden Park.

His game time at Celtic has been limited and Conor fell further down the pecking order when Joe Hart came in around the same time as Ange. It was clear the Irishman was not going to get any game time.

The club and Conor agreed to a loan deal with Helsinki being the destination. What a move it’s turned out to be for both Helsinki and Hazard.

Despite his exploits for Helsinki, Conor is likely to move on from Celtic on a permanent basis. The 24-year-olds contract is up at the end of this season.
