Olivier Ntcham Discusses Reasons Behind Leaving Celtic

Former Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham has shared his reasoning for his departure from Celtic, revealing that his decision was driven by a lack of new challenges after years of domestic success.

Ntcham, who now plays for Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig, reflected on his tenure at Parkhead where he experienced considerable success.

During his time with Celtic, Ntcham enjoyed a trophy-laden spell, capturing every possible Scottish title and completing a series of clean sweeps with the club. “I left Celtic because I didn’t think I could win any more trophies with them at the time. I was there for three seasons and we won everything, all the trophies,” Ntcham explained, quoted by the Daily Record.

After four years at Celtic, including a six-month loan at Marseille, Ntcham made a permanent move to Swansea City three years ago before his recent transfer to Samsunspor. His career trajectory post-Celtic probably hasn’t panned out the way many expected.

Ntcham was part of Brendan Rodgers’ treble-winning teams when the gaffer was at Celtic the first time around. The French midfielder wasn’t always on his A-Game for the Hoops, but when he wanted to be, he was one of the best midfielders in the country.
