Oh Wants To Develop Partnership With Kyogo

Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu proved crucial for the Hoops midweek against St. Mirren. The 22-year-old was introduced with around 15 minutes to go, and he finished with vigour to seal the points for his side.

When he came on, he replaced David Turnbull. This meant that Oh played with his fellow striker and competitor Kyogo in the closing stages.

Developing a partnership with the Japan internationalist is something the 22-year-old is keen to do. He said (Glasgow Times): “Kyogo is a great player, I want to play with him in every game, so I was so happy that we combined for the goal on Wednesday. I think we make a good partnership. I learn from him every day in training.”

Having Kyogo as a direct competitor for his spot in the team will never be easy for Oh, but he undoubtedly benefits vastly from being in and around the same environment as the 28-year-old.
On Wednesday when both players were on the park, Kyogo seemed to drop into midfield. Oh was the main striker, but it would be intriguing to see both line up together in a front two.
This could be something for Brendan Rodgers to think about going forward as the Irishman looks to make use of his entire squad at a hugely busy part of the season.
