Oh Reveals January Ambition

Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu is eager to get to the Asian Cup this winter after his brace against Hibernian during the week. The South Korean internationalist put in a notable display in his side’s 4-1 win.

Being included in the starting lineup was a big opportunity for the 22-year-old. It is fair to say he took full advantage.

He does get limited chances but with those, Oh is aiming to get to the Asian Cup with his country. He said (Glasgow Times): “In December I want to play as many games and score as many times as I can. I want to contribute towards the team and also get to the Asian Cup.”

Celtic could well have a few players going to play in this winter’s tournament in Qatar. It is due to last from the 12th of January up until the 10th of February, which could be a concern for the Hoops.

Despite this, it will be an exciting prospect for many bhoys to get to represent their nations at such a prestigious tournament. Do well, and their stocks will be undoubtedly raised which could work both for and against the champions.
