Former Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-Gyu has paid a classy tribute to his former teammate and fellow countryman, Yang Hyun-jun, highlighting the winger’s growth and impressive performances this season.
Yang’s time at Celtic hasn’t always been straightforward, but he has gradually found his feet, showing his potential with some standout performances, including a brilliant brace off the bench against St. Mirren at the SMISA Stadium last month. The South Korean winger has looked like a completely different player in recent months, adding consistency and end product to his game.

Oh said: (RecordSport), “I’m proud. I lived with Hyunjun Yang at Celtic. I know how hard it has been,” “It won’t be easy. However, he overcame all this and showed competitiveness. I’m very proud. I really want to say to Hyunjun, You’re doing a good job.”
Despite the challenges, Yang’s determination to earn his chance has really stood out, and his recent performances show just how talented he is. Oh’s tribute was both personal and genuine, recognising the hard work Yang has put in to succeed at Celtic. It’s clear that Oh, who became close with Yang during their time together, is happy to see his former teammate starting to make a real impact for the Hoops.
