Odsonne Edouard Returns Positive COVID Test

ODSONNE EDOUARD has returned a positive COVID-19 test with the France under 21s and will play no part in their games this week it has emerged.

The Frenchman was set to join up with his compatriots but the mandatory tests have confirmed the player is positive. Celtic will now have to look internally and test their own staff we would imagine, to see if any other players have contracted the virus.

Edouard played for Celtic on Sunday against St Johnstone before heading out on international duty.

This could have far-reaching implications for Celtic less than two weeks out from a Glasgow Derby. We will have to wait and see what transpires in the next 48-72 hours. Celtic will likely be acting as we speak.

We hope Eddy makes a speedy recovery if he’s displaying any of the horrible symptoms that the virus can bring on. It’s unlikely the player will be allowed to travel back to the country to prepare for the derby.

It’s another timely reminder, nobody is safe from catching COVID and when it comes to football, we could be down a lot of players if just one person has it.
