CELTIC players Jota and Matt O’Riley were targeted with missiles thrown from the Broomloan Road Stand just after the 50th minute during Celtic’s 3-0 derby defeat.

Referee Steven McLean retrieved some of the objects and handed them to the fourth official on the touchline. One of the things thrown onto the pitch looked to be a disposable vape.
This event is the latest in a string of violent occurrences at Old Firm fixtures, with a Celtic coach hit by a glass bottle in the corresponding fixture last season and fans injured at the January fixture this year.
The Rangers also couldn’t guarantee of pundit Chris Sutton during BT Sport’s European coverage.
Former Celtic striker and Sky Sports co–commentator Andy Walker had this to say on the scenes: [Live on Sky Sports]
“It’s absolutely ridiculous. Players have got to feel safe out there.”
It’s disappointing to see this happen at a football match, but it’s become an all too familiar sight at Ibrox in recent times.
Hopefully, those responsible will be held accountable for their actions.
