Marvin Compper is set to be handed his long awaited chance in Celtic’s pre-season Austria tour it has been revealed.

The player struggled with injury when he initially signed in January has not been seen in the team since a Scottish Cup tie in early January.

The German now has the full pre-season to resurrect his Celtic career.

Boyata is unlikely to be available for Celtic’s first qualifier at the very least, so it’s up to the 33-year-old to play his way into contention.

Failing that, Marvin’s time at the club looks bleak.
