‘Not Good Enough’ – Greg Taylor Sick of Post-Match Clichés

GREG TAYLOR has hit the nail on the head when talking about the latest Champions League disappointment.

The bhoys fell to a 3-1 defeat in the end to a very good Leipzig side. After going behind in the first half, the hoops found a way back into the game through Jota. Despite coming back level, we didn’t look like we could go and win the game. When things were in the balance, Joe Hart’s stray pass allowed Leipzig to capitalise and retake the lead.

If you’ve been watching Celtic play away in Europe for the past 20 years, this exact scenario will be familiar to you.

Whole different squads, teams and philosophies over the past two decades but more often than not, it’s silly mistakes that get us in the end. It’s frustrating.

If you look at the game in isolation, we did give Leipzig a scare and played to a decent level.

Speaking to CelticFC.com after the game, Taylor said:

“It’s easy to come out here and say we were disappointed but it’s not good enough – we need to show we belong at this level because the club does.”

We’d echo those sentiments. Celtic need to believe they can get a result in the heat of battle. Becoming ruthless and also cutting out the silly mistakes that have cost us.
